New Member Spotlight: Bricks Cafe

Bricks Cafe has been a Brentwood classic for years, serving up delicious meals with a personal touch.

Purchased earlier this year by Susan Reynolds Stewart, Bricks has an upscale vibe with a laid-back and comfortable atmosphere that’s perfect for any occasion, whether it’s a  business lunch or a casual family dinner.

“From an age where I was able to climb into a chair, I grew up cooking with my grandmother and always had a true passion for food,” says Reynolds Stewart. “After working in digital marketing for 10 years, I took a chance and dove headfirst into the restaurant industry.”

Reynolds Stewart is proud to be part of Williamson County’s burgeoning food scene and a community that loves and supports its local restaurants.

She likes to classify fare served at the restaurant as “new American,” offering an array of dishes from Southwestern chimichangas to Tuscan pastas to wood-fired pizzas and more. The eatery also places a heavy emphasis on its wine menu, rotating its wine offerings and suggested food pairings every month.

With moody lighting, white tablecloths, a large brick oven behind the bar, and bold pops of artworks courtesy of a current featured artist, Bricks Cafe is a warm and inviting space.

Beverlee Bowman, a longtime and beloved employee at the restaurant referred to by regulars as ‘mama,’ emphasizes the personal touches that guests receive when they dine at Bricks.

“We try to get to know our guests as if they were part of our own family,” says Bowman. “When you come here for a meal, you aren’t anonymous, which is the case at so many new restaurants. Regulars who come in have “their” table as well as their back-up table, and we know their drink orders before they even take a seat.”

With an extensive and varied menu, monthly specials, and chef-driven dishes, Bricks Cafe offers something for everyone.

“We might have white tablecloths, but you’ll still feel right at home if you come in with your kids wearing your gym shorts. We want our guests to feel like this is their kitchen, without having to do an ounce of work,” says Bowman.

Bricks Cafe is located at 330 Franklin Road and is open Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. The restaurant’s Happy Hour runs from 3 to 6:30 p.m. and includes specials on drinks and small plates.
