Affiliate Spotlight :: Toast

Toast was created nearly four years ago by three MIT graduates who saw an opportunity to retool outdated restaurant operations technology that directly affects the customer experience.   

The result was an all-in-one, integrated restaurant point of sale system, offering online ordering, loyalty programs, gift cards and more in one package. The Toast system also provides restaurant owners with real-time reporting that can be accessed anywhere, at any time. Plus, it’s all customized to the location (or locations), configured to the restaurant’s unique needs.

“A lot of POS systems in Nashville today are legacy systems, so they are clunky, antiquated and expensive,” said Sarah Dewey, Nashville Sales Manager at Toast. “Toast is a more cost-effective option that presents information in a streamlined, intuitive manner, and software updates are included. We like to say that restaurants are our bread and butter.”  

Toast came to Nashville just over a year ago and currently provides services to about 65 restaurants in the greater Nashville area, including several Nashville Originals member restaurants.

Chris Blair, an Originals Board Member and owner of The Listening Room, says that Toast has completely changed the way they serve customers.

“Their platform is easy to use, it’s reliable and it has drastically sped up our ticket times by our being able to use handheld devices at the table,” Blair said. “After using many different POS systems, I’m confident that Toast is the way to go.”

Customer service is included as part of the package, and clients will be able to call or email Toast staff members at any time for assistance.
